Dottie Githae, 360 Degree International, Gigri, Kenya

At a young age I was nicknamed ka-dollar as “anything she touched turned to gold”. A quality that has underpinned my career, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit & can-do attitude. I am a highly motivated & I constantly challenge convention, a value I learnt from Richard Branson whilst working internationally at Virgin Mobile UK.

1. Over 11 years of excellent experience in Corporate Sales, Logistics Customer Operations, and 3 years in General Management, Commercial Marketing Strategy, and Route to Market Channel & People Development. I excel in new challenges & driving business growth in new markets.

2. I have succeeded in growing businesses both in Sub Saharan Africa and in the UK. At DHL led team to achieve over 30% revenue growth & over 60% market penetration in direct customer retail sales.

3. I have an in-depth understanding of the Industry & African Markets, the key developments that will affect business over the next 10 years as I have worked closely on the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) both at policy & adoption levels. The 3 years working closely with Africa Union’s Economic Affairs & Trade has given me experience useful for organizations seeking market penetration into Africa.

I think digital marketing with stories, photos and videos is going to be the key is changing the African Narrative to reach out to people all over the world, change & impact their perceptions. In addition building the Intra-Africa & domestic tourism is crucial to recovery.
I plan to use my marketing skills to #rebuildingtravel
