Judy Kepher-Gona is the founder and Principal Consultant at Sustainable Travel & Tourism Agenda- STTA. Judy is a sustainability coach with over 20 years experience working with sustainable tourism and travel qualification systems, community integration, and progressive conservation approaches.
Judy is a renowned sustainability adviser, assessor, trainer and advocate, who has held board roles in global organisations like The International Ecotourism Society, Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Fair Trade Tourism and among others.
As an assessor she has designed certification schemes and awards. She has also undertaken assignments for World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as on-site assessor for Tourism for Tomorrow Awards, National Geographic as assessor for Unique Lodges of the World and World legacy Awards, judge for Tourism Resilience Council IIPT Awards, Co-chair of Africa Tourism Leadership Awards since 2018.
In 2019, she was awarded the Sustainable Citizen Award by Forbes Woman Africa in recognition of outstanding contribution to awareness and knowledge of sustainability in tourism in Africa and beyond.
We are a Kenyan registered company offering support and consultancy services in tourism, community led conservation and development. We consider ourselves leaders and constructive thinkers in these fields. Our work largely contributes to research in these areas, analysis, reviews and project modelling. Our analysis informs solutions for sustainable management of tourism, effective community integration and engagement in tourism and conservation, and SMEs integration in tourism supply chain. For us sustainability is a quality management approach that can transform tourism and conservation to contribute to thriving communities and hence a thriving a planet. In addition, we offer several spaces for stakeholder and interest groups interaction on all these issues in order to build confidence in sustainable management of tourism and effective conservation.
